Surface Coating

PLATING

QPL's capability include plating Silver (Ag),
Nickel-Palladium (NiPd), Nickel-Palladium-Gold (NiPdAu), Nickel (Ni) & Gold (Au) onto leadframes. Our plating operations are in both "Strip" and "Reel" form depending on products to help facilitate quick turn around and small lots. To ensure customer compliance, quality of the plated products are closely monitored.


SILVER(Ag) PLATING - STRIP FORM

QPL offers 16 strands on one plating machine for
faster cycle time and minimizing floor space. Leadframes are plated with standard Spot/Ring/Full Ag Plating or Multi-Mini Spot Ag plating, with individual lines separately controlled to meet the customer's quality requirements.


SILVER(Ag) PLATING - REEL FORM

QPL also offers both 4 strands and 2 strands (high
speed) on one plating machine. Leadframes are plated with Standard Spot/Ring/Full Ag Plating, with individual lines separately controlled to meet the customer's quality requirements.




NICKEL-PALLADIUM (NiPd / NiPdAu) PPF PLATING

Through licenses obtained from Texas Instruments and Furukawa, QPL offers substantial advantages by using NiPd-PPF (NiPd Pre-Plated leadframes). These advantages include the elimination of selective plating, the completion of all wet processes prior to package assembly, and increases in both throughput and production yields. This process also enables significant quality improvements, including enhanced
coplanarity maintenance, the elimination of both solder bridging and the possibility of silver migration, and environmental benefits due to the
elimination of Cyanide and Lead. Best of all, customer realize overall packaging cost reduction due to simplification of the plating process, the
reduction of waste treatment, and the extension of their leadframe shelf-life.


NICKEL (Ni) PLATING

QPL offers with full/spot/ring plating to meet the
customer's quality requirements.


 
GOLD (Au) PLATING

QPL offers with full/spot/ring plating to meet the
customer's quality requirements.

 


BLACK OXIDE COATING

Black oxide coating is one of the most efficient ways to improve the interfacial adhesion with many different types of organic adhesives and moulding compounds. QPL offers full black oxide coating on
copper substrates to meet the customer's quality requirements.


 
BLACK INK COATING

QPL offers black epoxy type of coating on top of black oxide surface to meet improve the cosmetic appearance of the package.
